The Haverelle Pendant Lamp started from the schoolhouse lights in old one-room schools and general stores, white glass shades with a flared rim, hung on chains from a metal fitter and finished with a small knob at the bottom. Their shape was plain and practical, made to throw light down onto desks and counters. We kept that shape, the wide shoulder, the rounded bowl underneath and the little finial, and cut the shade from veined Spanish alabaster in place of the old white glass.
The shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster. Its veining, cloud pattern and color differ on every piece, so no two lamps look exactly the same.
